Once upon a time, as a queen sits sewing in her window, she pricks her finger on her needle and a drop of blood falls onto the snow. As she looks down at the snow, she says to herself, "oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony." Soon after that, she gave birth to a baby girl who was named Snow White.
